With sadness I write of Rev. Falwell’s death.
Our Sovereign God decided to call home a great minister of his Gospel today. Rev. Jerry Falwell was found unconscious at about 11:30am, and thereafter pronounced dead at 12:40pm.
Jerry Falwell was used of God in a great many ways, and he shall be missed here on this earth.

Dear Readers,
Please pray for Emma Katherine, daughter of Pastor McDonald of Providence Church. Below I am including a post from Pastor McDonald’s blog:
Our four year old daughter, Emma Katherine, started complaining about pain in her right palm last week. Friday afternoon, we noticed a small lump in the middle of her palm. It seemed to grow over the weekend. Right now, it is the diameter of a nickel and visibly raised.
We just returned home from the doctor today (the Lord blessed us in locating a homeschooling physician). The doctor’s recommendation is that we have the lump removed right away. He cannot tell what it is, but said it could be cancerous. He had never seen such a cyst like this before. He even brought in one of his colleagues to get his opinion. Of course, our prayer is a benign cyst. Our doctor is contacting a pediatric surgeon here in Peoria to schedule the next step.
The procedure will take place in the hospital. Emma will have to be sedated.
We certainly covet your prayers. We serve a sovereign God.
I will post updates as this progresses.
Here is the link to Pastor McDonald’s blog so that you may keep up with things if you wish. Please remember them in your prayers!

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to Jackson’s Mill. Much to my chagrin I noticed after I got home that I hadn’t actually gotten any pictures of the mill.
Here is Allen having fun with the mirror.
It was very cold there so I had to bundle Allen up.
This is a cabin that they moved to this site. It is similar to the type of cabin Jackson lived in.
This is another cabin on the site. Very, very tiny. It is hard to believe entire families with lots of children lived in these small dwellings.
Here is a cute picture of Allen.
This is the statue of Jackson in Clarksburg, WV.
A view from Jackson’s Mill.

My wife cooked up a surprise for me this past Wednesday. You see, I had to go to Indiana on Monday a week ago for a Franklin Films production, then I had to drive from there to Weston, WV for a Franklin Springs Family Media production. Originally, we had intended for Rachel to drive our other car over to meet us in Weston, WV, but ultimately decided it was too expensive and that we could not afford it. However, my friends, Mark and Amy Stubblefield got wind of this and arranged with my wife for her and the baby to ride with them. I was kept unaware until I arrived at Jackson’s Lodge in Weston, where my wife greeted me when I walked into the room. I was quite pleasantly surprised.
We are home now however and are glad to be back!

It has really come to my attention this past week how much Rachel really does around here. She left for Peoria to visit her family and left me behind here in Tennessee. At this point, you should see the pile of mail and other stuff that has accumulated on her desk since she left. O, I keep up with where our money is going for the most part, and I know roughly how much money we have, but I hate dealing with bills and balancing and all that (I’m the creative type remember?). So she does all the bills, balancing, bookeeping etc. And then we sit down every so often and I look over things, and she tells me what’s going on in our world. Well, there’s so much paper work sitting on her desk right now it makes me sick to think about. All I can say is I’m glad I don’t have to do this by myself!
She’s driving back home as I write this. I’m expecting her around 10:30 tonight.
Anyway, for any married men who might need a reminder, cherish your wife… I know I will do so all the more with this reminder, and especially with our anniversary in two days!

Well, I’ve now been married to my beautiful wife for almost a year. It’s pretty unbelievable actually. On June 18th we will celebrate our first anniversary. I have to say that this has been the best one year of my entire life. I don’t understand this thing about the first year being the hardest… that’s what they say about the first year anyway.
