1). IT’S HOT NOW! I’m ready for fall… I offer you this snapshot from my iPhone Weather Bug application:
Uhh… yeah… that’s a little warm.
(please note however, despite the global warming hype, we really aren’t in any danger of breaking any heat records, I just like to complain)
2). I offer you a snapshot from my desk, where I’m editing away in Final Cut for the past 1 1/2 weeks:

*Drool* Are those 22” monitors? What kind of machine is powering them? I know it’s a Mac, but what’s the specs!
That particular computer is the last Powermac Franklin Films purchased. It’s a Quad Core, 2.5 GHz G5 w/4.5 Gigs RAM and a KONA LHe video card and HD Accelerator. GeForce 6600 NVIDIA Graphics card with 256 megs VRAM powering 2 23” monitors at 1920x1200 ea.
Though it’s hard to compare, it’s roughly the same speed as my Dual Core Intel MacBook Pro… which means I don’t notice a lot of difference in terms of speed. Some things are faster on one, some things are faster on the other. I would say, applications designed to better take advantage of multiple cores are going to do slightly better on the Quad Core computer than my Dual Core laptop.
BTW, those two monitors are the only Dell anything we have in the office. We got a really good deal on them. They aren’t anywhere near as good as the Apple Cinema Displays.
Nice setup! Are the monitors True Life?
Not sure what you are asking…
I’ve heard (and seen) True Life is a lot more clearer and less fuzz but it is glossy.
O, you are talking about the glossy displays. No, I hate glossy displays.
We do have a color accurate monitor for color correcting. But it’s at a different editing station.
Just wait TJ… Just wait!
Actually funny side note… I am stuck on a PC with a 17in display when I have two Macs, one with a 23in display and the other (iMac) 20”, sitting next to me.
Kindas stinks, but my work is on this stupid computer.
